C.A.T.S. Ministry
College Age & Twenty Something Our purpose: To build and provide a loving community of young adults and leaders who are totally committed to knowing Jesus, sharing Jesus, and serving Jesus.
C.A.T.S. is a ministry through Calvary Baptist Church for young adults in their twenties to fellowship together. Students and workers in the area gather throughout the week at the Alpha house, located centrally in the Reading area.
There are quite a few activities going on throughout the week, as listed below. We invite you and your friends to check it out and attend any one or all of the events. Here's what we have going on right now:
Sundays: There is a C.A.T.S. group Sunday School at 9:30. Sunday evenings starting around 6 pm, we CATS meet at the Alpha house for worship and small groups. Everyone worships together and then splits into small groups with a great leader. Groups normally run until 8 pm or whenever the group feels they are finished.
After small groups you are invited to stick around and fellowship, relax, and hang out as long as you wish! This is a great time to talk and get to know everyone, or play video games together.
Wednesdays: In the evening at the Alpha house we meet for a great Bible study. The pace of the study is set by those who come, and we've been working through different books of the Bible, This time is spent digging, reading, praying, sharing and learning together as a group. It is a very casual and relaxed environment which would only improve if graced by your presence!
Other things that happen include Friday Night hangs at the Alpha house. We get together to eat, hang out, meet new people and just have fun. It's a great way to relax after a long week! These nights are held approximately twice a month and the dates are posted in the Alpha house.
Retreats, concert outings and other events are constantly happening. These activities are posted and announced at all of the weekly gatherings.
The Alpha and Beta houses rent out rooms to any "CATS". For details, contact the church office, 610-372-7640. This is a great Christian environment to live in and is centrally located in the Reading. Shillington area.
